Coach Patty M. was born in Señora Mexico she grew up in San Diego Ca. She is the founder of Hooper Mentality. Coach Patty has her BS from San Diego State and her Masters from National University. Prior Head coaching experience at West Cliff University and Bethesda College. She Currently resides in Baltimore and looks to continue her passion for helping, advocating and inspiring all people! Lauren Goodman, started off a dragon and finished up at 3500 a Titian. Then she received a full scholarship to Jackson State University where she competed as point guard in the Southwestern Athletic Conference [SWAC] for 4 seasons for the Tigers. Goodman was a consistent contributor collecting multiple double-figure scoring nights. Retiring to Sacramento, she was named girls varsity basketball coach at Monterey Trail. In just her second season, she was honored as Delta League coach-of-the-year. Shifting gears to pursue as sports broadcasting career, Goodman is her 4th year as a member of the Hometown Sports game-of-the-week announce team, serving as a field reporter during the football season and game analyst for basketball games. Goodman has used her experiences to motivate athletes and inform parents on her own Goody Givin’ Game platform.

Kaleena Smith a super dope 12 year old amazing student athlete lets us in on how she has always played against the boys and works on her game daily. Also when she fell in love with the game of basketball at three years old. Special K is always one of the best on the floor no matter if she is playing on the boys side or girls, the proof is in her work.
God mom Jen talks being a parent of two boys growing up in the basketball community, having to learn the game from studying countless hours of hoop. She spent time reading, watching film, attending practices and even becoming an official. Jen shares how her and Kaleena linked up and been rocking ever since!

Danielle a God fearing and loving women, she is one of the greatest basketball players from the state of California let alone Sacramento. She is a fiery competitor and a legendary scorer. She was a player very unique in her approach, skill and determination. She is well known for her incredible high school career at Del Campo where she was a two-time state player of the year. She holds 10 California state scoring records and 5 national high school marks. Among her accomplishments were her 3,089 points in only three years of varsity play. She averaged 35 points per game with a career high of 60. She broke Cheryl Miller’s record of 1,300 points in one season and had a total 379 3-point field goals made during her high school days. A real life walking (BUCKET).

Also attending Burbank high school and the perfect timing of his pops return into his life before he started high school! Jalen really lets us know about his mental toughness and how it was developed. We talk Yuba, Montana Tech and Campbellsville University basketball. I got jay to even open is heart about the loss of his two dear closes friends and teammates ( Cliff & Mitch). Coach McKenzie enters his seventh season as an Assistant Coach for the William Carey University Track & Field Teams with an emphasis in the horizontal and vertical jumps.
During his tenure, McKenzie’s athletes have had great success at the conference and national level including 15 Conference Champions, 37 All-Conference Athletes, 4 Southern States Field Athlete of the Year award winners, 26 National Championship Qualifiers, 20 All-Americans, and 5 National Champions. Almost all of McKenzie’s athletes have seen personal bests under his direction while setting every jump school record, as well as, numerous conference records.
Coach McKenzie has been named a 5 x USTFCCCA South Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the year and a 3 x nominee for USTFCCCA NAIA Women’s National Assistant Coach of the Year for both Indoor and Outdoor Track.
Prior to WCU, McKenzie coached multiple Mississippi High School State Final qualifiers at both Oak Grove High School and East Marion High School.
McKenzie is a 2005 graduate of Alcorn State University where he earned both a Bachelor of Recreation and Physical Education and then a Masters of Secondary Education in 2014. While at ASU, McKenzie was a 4 year varsity letter winner in Track & Field, as well as a multiple All-Conference Selection. McKenzie also competed at the 2003 and 2004 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Regional in both the 4x100m Relay, 4x400m Relay, and the Long Jump.
McKenzie is a USATF - Level 1 Certified Coach

From Richmond California, Wayne tells us how he go to attend and play basketball for the real COACH CARTER. He talks about their bond and how they showed up one day and the doors were locked. I asked him about the running suicides and the team study hall sessions. Wayne talks about the struggles of growing up in the Rich. He even lets us in on how he overcame some tough losses (Loss of his brother) and I do mean tough. Of course I had to talk about his daughter Amaya Oliver (sauceyy.mya) IG who currently is a freshman playing at USC! He talks about being a proud father to his kids but also the real life struggle and grind behind it! Also Wayne is a published author and has some of the dopest poems out right now.

He shares how basketball was a tool that helped change his life. As he moved from state to state with his family pursuing his dream! C talks about his boy Dame Dolla, Labron James, Dreymond Green and KD! Yeah we talk about it all. We even hit on the bubble and a shirt he wore that our close friend Steav Jordan made ( All I Ever Did was Be Black) made national attention.
